Looking for collaboration with ‘Today in Labour History’ feature of Labourstart
I’m sharing this with colleagues associated with IALHI in the hopes that you will be able to assist this new initiative of LabourStart, “where trade unionists start their day on the net.”
LabourStart – www.labourstart.org<http://www.labourstart.org > — has lots of big plans in the works for 2013-14 and one of them is our new ‘Today in Labour History’ feature. You may have seen it on our home page in English.
What we’re aiming to do is create a database of interesting dates in labour history from all over the world, in many languages.
Over the next few months, we’ll be able to roll this out by language and by country, so that when you visit, for example, LabourStart Canada, you’ll see a Canada-specific ‘Today in Labour History’ feature, and when you visit our home page in German, you’ll see a German language feature there.
We have a small team — six of us — currently adding the dates to the database. Today, I’m writing to a dozen of you to ask for your help because your country or language is not being covered properly, or because I know of your passion for labour history.
If you’re willing to help — even if it’s only to add a few dates to the database — please write to my colleague Edd Mustill (firstname.lastname@example.org<mailto:email@example.com>) and he’ll set you up.
Thanks — and see more updates over the next few weeks on Inside LabourStart<http://www.labourstart.org/blogs/>.
